The NamiPixelX Engine

NamiPixelX is Nami Tentou's in-house retro-porting engine, purpose-built to bring legacy Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Sega Mega Drive catalogs to modern consoles — without a ground-up rebuild and without losing what made the originals work. If you hold a back catalog and need a partner who can actually ship it, this is what we do.

Why publishers work with us

Porting a 20–30 year old codebase to a modern console isn't a recompile — it's a reconstruction. NamiPixelX exists specifically to de-risk that work: we've already solved input mapping, save states, achievement hooks, and certification quirks for NES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Mega Drive titles, so a new licensed port isn't starting from zero engineering.

We work under NDA, scope the port before any commitment, and keep your IP's presentation decisions — box art, packaging, marketing — in your hands. Our job is the technical and certification path from "we own the rights" to "it's live on the eShop."

How an engagement works

  1. Confidential intro & NDATell us what's in the catalog. We sign an NDA before any technical detail changes hands.
  2. Feasibility & prototypeWe assess the source ROM/codebase and build a small vertical-slice prototype so you can see fidelity and feel before committing.
  3. Scoped portFull production against an agreed scope: target platforms, feature set (achievements, rumble, HD music, palettes), and timeline.
  4. Certification & QAWe handle platform cert requirements and QA passes for Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam as applicable.
  5. Launch & supportWe stay engaged post-launch for patches and platform updates — a port that ships is only half the job.
